This is one of those pieces that really makes you wonder about its history! This letter opener has a brass blade and an intricately carved handle with brass cap at the end. It measures 10.5" in length and the blade is fairly thick, narrowing and coming to a point as it nears the tip. The blade can be unscrewed and removed from the handle though it is unclear what purpose this serves. It is fairly sharp . . . could it possibly have been a Victorian Ladies dagger? We may never know. But it is a very unique piece either way!
