This handsome, rare Tuatara lizard originally came from New Zealand. The Tuatara is a rare type of lizard and are the sole survivors of an early order of reptile that appeared on earth 230 million years ago. A truly interesting specimen with a line of dorsal spikes up his back, he looks as though he is whipping around to catch a fly in mid air. The tip of his tail has broken off and he has a few missing toes but check out the scales around his face and his mouth of tiny teeth. Stands 6" tall . . . that's one big lizard!
